Questions and answers

Who is Family Buddy for?

Family Buddy is for parents of kids aged 3 to 10 who want a simple daily routine and reward system at home, including chore tracking, habit tracking, points and rewards.

What age is this best for?

Family Buddy works best for kids aged roughly 3 to 10 who are building daily routines. Start simple, then adjust tasks and rewards as your child grows.

What's the difference between a chore chart and a habit tracker?

A chore chart tracks household responsibilities; a habit tracker tracks repeating behaviours like reading daily. Family Buddy supports both in one app, so you can manage chores and habits in the same place.

Can I add more than one child?

The free version covers one child. Premium adds more children, unlimited daily routines, an encrypted backup, printing, and removes the ads.

About the ads.

The free version shows ads. They're configured as child-directed with G-rated content only, and Family Buddy doesn't ask permission to track your child across apps. Premium removes ads entirely.

Does it work without an internet connection?

Yes. Family Buddy works offline. Your tasks, points and rewards are stored on your device, so you can use it anywhere.

Is Family Buddy available on Android?

Yes. Family Buddy is free on both iPhone and Android. Download it from the App Store or Google Play.

What happens to my data if I change phones?

Your family's data lives on your device, so it doesn't move on its own. Premium includes an encrypted backup file that you save wherever you choose and restore on your new phone. The file holds everything: your children, rewards, tasks, schedule and the complete points record, not just the last seven days. And if a restore ever fails, nothing changes: your existing data is left exactly as it was. Without a backup, switching devices means starting over.

If I resubscribe on a new phone, does my data come back?

Your subscription follows your App Store or Google Play account, so Premium restores automatically. Your family's data does not. That needs the backup file. They're two separate things, so back up before you switch.

If I cancel Premium, do I lose anything?

No. Nothing is deleted. Your children, points and history all stay, and your repeating routines pause until you subscribe again.

Can I see history older than a week?

The History screen shows the last 7 days, but nothing is deleted. Your child's complete record is kept on your device, and a Premium backup includes all of it.
